We are honored to share a message of gratitude from local veteran Don Hendershot, who recently went on an Honor Flight. Our students sent thank you cards and a special video to show their appreciation for his service. The veteran was also treated to a pre-flight dinner at the VFW Hall (Lafore Lock Post 755) in Springfield the night before.
"Don (Potsie) would like to thank Shiloh school #1 staff and students for all the card, notes, thanking him for his service. Thank you Mr. Carrol and students for the video. It was awesome. You people really know how to make a person feel special. Thanks for the remembers. I will cherish them forever."

The Prairie is the best place to explore!
PIP hosted a group connection activity at the Shiloh Prairie on October 16th with a walk-through led by Kendra Saddoris. Using their senses of sight, hearing, smell and touch, the children discovered what a sensory experience nature is and collected “treasures” such as leaves, sweet-smelling herbs, and seed pods. At the end of the adventure, the little ones chose a mini pumpkin and a book to take home. Everyone had fun walking trails with their family and friends!
