A couple of weeks ago Lynn Holm from the Partnership in Parenting (PIP) program came in to speak to Ms. Hendrix's Parenting and Child Development classes. Mrs. Holm talked about the PIP program, what services they offer, and how PIP can help families within the surrounding communities. She also demonstrated different activities that can be done with children to help them develop different skills such as motor and cognitive.

Each year Mrs. Milburn's 3rd grade class does a persimmon lesson on forecasting winter weather. The students learn about the symbols they base off of the seeds. This year the spoon was the clear winner. If the prediction holds true it will be a winter that has heavy snow that needs to be shoveled.

Fall fun with Mrs. Climaco's 2nd grade! "This week our field trip had to be rescheduled because of the rain, but we made Jack o'lantern sun catchers and learned about all the ways people use pumpkins - our favorites were Jack o'lantern carving contests and giant pumpkin boat races! (Google those pumpkin boat races if you have time - so funny!) I also fundraised to get enough money for each student to pick a book from our scholastic book order each month to keep. They were so excited! Here’s a picture of them with their first month’s book picks!"
